Doug rode the Easy Street van pool from Woodstock to Hartford every day. He enjoyed being able to relax and read the paper on the way in, and the conservation and companionship.
Also, most of the old rust buckets he drove over the years were not capable of making the 90 mile round trip over an extended period of time.
Last, but not least, he thought it was a more environmentally friendly way to get back and forth to work.
Connie Mendolia from the CT DEP took the picture below of Doug, John Cimochowski and Mark Parker for effort to promote car pooling. They are showing all the dough they saved ridesharing.
Doug helped me write several articles for my newspaper column to encourage others to try out mass transit.
